Escatawpa Hollow Campground And Canoe
Rental
Escatawpa Hollow
Campground Escatawpa Hollow
campground is located on US Hwy 98 (Moffett Rd.) at the Alabama/Mississippi state line. The Campground is on
the Escatawpa River. The River features breathtaking white sandy beaches and serene amber colored flat-water.
The river is mainly shallow with deep holes for great fishing. The campground features a sandbar for the
pleasure of its campers and guest at Escatawpa Hollow. There are walking trails in the scenic wooded areas,
with surprises of the little bridges over natural creeks and low place, with a tree house in the woods for
children. There are lots of different flora and fauna for everyone’s enjoyment.
In a study conducted by the US Department of the Interior called the wild
and senic river study. It is noted that the Escatawpa River is probably the fines undeveloped black water
stream in the nation. The Escatawpa River has a unique naturalness due primarily to the stewardship of the
relatively few , large landowners.
We put in at Lott Rd and took about 8 hours paddling and an overnight to
98 Bridge. It was first 3 days of March and fantastically beautiful. The campground was great in
providing shuttle service, info and good conversation. Will return again and again.
